Dr. Ayanna Shivers’ Platform

My main mission is to advocate for our rural communities, by making sure our schools, our healthcare and our towns are a priority on the state-level.  

As state senator I will:

• Advocate for public schools and educators (K-12 and higher education) recognizing they are the cornerstone of our democracy. 

• Fight for rural healthcare and hospitals.  Healthcare is a right and rural communities need it to be readily accessible. 

• Support our independent family farms and rural communities realizing they are the backbone of our state.

 • Ensure that municipalities maintain local control of municipal elections; property tax guidance and issues that directly impact the citizens they serve and they areas they cover.
